Finding My Faith
A Lenten Devotional Project

Submit Your Devotional
We are beginning a Lenten Devotional project called Finding My Faith. This will include devotionals written by our members and the end product will hopefully be a booklet we can all read during the Lenten season. The devotionals will be screened/edited by a writing committee. We will choose several of them for the booklet and perhaps post some on our web site. For examples of what we're looking for, think of those in the Upper Room, Guideposts, or Chicken Soup Devotional series.
The format is as follows:
Tell us your story in your own words. Some suggestions to get your thinking started are: Was your faith a lifetime activity or did it happen in unusual ways? Did someone from this church, your family, a leader inspire your faith? If so, how? Were there circumstances in a work environment or recreation where God charted your faith experience? Did a prayer intervention instruct you in the ways of faith? Or anything else that helps you share your faith journey with the rest of us.
Length - 250-500 words.
First page should have a title followed by your name. Each successive page should be numbered with your name on it. If your devotional is selected for the booklet and you wish to be listed anonymously or under a pen name, please make that notation on the first page.
At the top of the first page, list a scripture connected to the story. Story should have a beginning, middle and an end. It should be told in the first person (from your point of view). Do your best to punctuate and use proper grammar. However, the screening committee will edit. So don't think you must be the perfect writer to submit. After the end of the story, write a short prayer connected to the story.
Children, youth and staff are invited to submit.
Deadline is Wed. Feb. 8. Please submit stories via E-mail, typed, or handwritten to Jeannie in the church office. Questions? Contact Rita Billbe at 321-0987 or Neil Chandler at 425-7063
