Randy grew up in the Twin Lakes area near Mountain Home, AR, graduating from Mountain Home High School in 1981.   He then earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas. 

After a successful career as owner of Ludwig Design & Construction (along with his wife, Michelle), Randy responded to the "call" to change vocations.  Sponsored by First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home, he entered seminary and graduated Cum Laude from the Memphis Theological Seminary in May, 2006.  Randy was ordained in June, 2006, becoming a Probationary Elder of the United Methodist Church's Arkansas Conference.

Randy has a passion for New Testament teaching.  He has led numerous mission trips in the U.S. and abroad.

Randy was a prime mover in the establishment of Christian Family Home Builders  - an organization seeking to respond to the physical structure needs of Christian families and institutions.

Randy served charges in Desha and Bethesda, AR prior to being appointed to  his present position as Associate Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home, AR.
