Rev. Keith DodsonJoin in with the praise! “Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts! Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord! “ Psalms 148 (ESV) I bet you are like me and really tired of things changing. Our change-o-meter has hit the top level and we are ready for just the same old same old for a little while. But we have more change coming, but this change is one that reminds us of God’s beautiful creation. Fall is one of my favorite times of year. The air becomes more crisp, the leaves begin to change and holiday season begins to approach. And do you know what is amazing Covid can not stop it from happening!!! Above you will notice the fall picture from the Old Mill in 2007. I love this place and I love the picture, but I do not like the color of the water. For this to have been a perfect picture for me, the water would have been a clear blue/green. But heavy rains had made the water muddy and brown. With fall approaching it is a good time to look around and be thankful. Yes, there is going to still be some muddy water we have to live with. However, it is up to us whether we are going to let the imperfections take away from our fall experience. I hope you can find time to see where God is moving this fall. Not only in God’s creation, but in your life every day. Look for the blessings, and look for what is right as opposed to what is wrong. Look for the big ways God is moving and look for the small, but yet powerful, ways God is moving. Look and see that God’s creation is praising Him! Look and see that even in the midst of our struggles that creation still marches on, the seasons change, and the beautiful hills of the Ozarks show the splendor of our God. So no matter what we face, we do so knowing that the God who created all that is around us is still creating and still around. God is with us and we will praise Him until the “season” we are in ends, and a new one begins. Be Blessed! Bro. Keith

Introducing the FUMCMH Church App!
This month we will be rolling out our new church app through Tithe.ly. With the app you will be able to easily stay up to date with events and ministries, easily give online and much more! There is one great new feature called the Prayer Wall. You can submit a prayer request by going to the Prayer Wall section of the app and tapping “Add” in the top right corner. From there you will be able to fill out the title of your request, your name (optional), and the details of your prayer request. Once filled in, tap “Send” in the top right corner to submit the rquest. Once a prayer request is approved, it will appear on the prayer wall so users can see and comment on the request if they choose. You will also have the ability to read the bible through the app and evenwatch the livestreams directly from the app. We are so excited about this and we hope you will make use of it. We are still making a few adjustments but in the next week or so, you will recieve an email with instructions to download the app. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me. God Bless! Children's Ministry
As sad as this makes me, I’m sure that you have guessed by now that we are not going to be able to have our usual Wednesday afternoon ministry here at the church. We can’t pick up children after school on the busses and we’re not supposed to meet inside with children for more than 35 minutes. All of that to let you know, that we are trying to come up with some creative ways to do some fun family ministry outside possibly on a Wednesday evening. More details about that will come later! A video and survey have been developed to get your input on a direction that you would like to see us go. You may check that out on Facebook or on our website. Please watch the video and give us some feedback on how you would like to see us proceed! It looks like it could possibly be after the first of the year before we are able to meet on Wednesday afternoons and pick up from school as usual. Of course, this too can all change! I hope that you know that I miss you and your children terribly and will look forward to seeing you when it is safe for us to do so. I also want you to know that I (and the church) have been praying for your children, the schools, and you! No matter what form of school you have chosen, this is going to be a very different year for everyone! We need to extend a little extra grace to everyone these days! Blessings, |
Message from SPRCKevin Beckham, Chair As chair of the SPRC committee, I'd like to share some news regarding our church staff. Kellye Cannon has informed us of her intent to retire from her position as the leader of our Children’s Ministry. I want thank Kellye for her years of service and her deep commitment to the children of our church. Her heart for kids and heart for God have made our program what it is today. I feel personally blessed that she played a role in the spiritual growth of my kids, Grace and Will, through her leadership of the program. The SPRC committee will immediately begin a search for Kellye’s replacement.
As we prepare for Fall and begin an unprecedented new school year, it is critical that we have continuity while we tailor our program during this pandemic. I am pleased to announce that Laura Law has agreed to assume interim responsibilities for the Children's Ministry, in addition to her current role. Please thank Laura for her commitment to insure a smooth transition while we search for a permanent replacement.
I encourage you to pray for our team, that we will find and select someone who will further develop the spiritual growth of our kids. Let us follow the word of Paul, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
Grace and Peace,
Kevin Beckham

Heartfelt Thanks From the Kuenzlis
To our church family, We are humbled by the outpouring of love we have received through your prayers, calls, emails, and cards. From shock to numbness to the reality of the loss of our grandsons wife and our three great grandchildren, through a tragic car accident, we read and were touched by every message. We have shared those with our daughter Melissa, and grandson Robert to bring them comfort. Please continue to pray for Robert who has lost his entire family. Mike and Judy Kuenzli |
Card Shower for Dickey & Donna Baltz
Dickey and Donna Baltz will be moving to an assisted living complex in Illinois to be near their daughter within the next two weeks. They are not able to have visitors so we were thinking a card shower (either cards via mail or email) would be a nice way to let them know we will be thinking of them and wishing them many blessings. Dickey and Donna have been long time FUMC members and have helped the church in many ways throughout that time. Those of you who have been in attendance the past few years will remember Dickey ringing bells and singing in the choir and Donna as the lady always giving loving hugs to many who walked into the sanctuary on a Sunday morning. Donna was a board member of United Methodist Women for many years and managed the hospitality desk for the Traditional Service. They will both be remembered for the numerous times they have helped our church wherever there was a need. PLEASE NOTE THEIR NEW EMAIL ADDRESS LISTED BELOW! Dickey and Donna’s current address is: 1908 Fuller Mountain Home, AR 72653
