Happy Mother's Day
To all Mothers, Stepmothers, Godmothers, Grandmothers and all women who have been influencial in the lives of others, we say Thank You! Thank you for all you have done and continue to do each and every day! You are a true blessing! |
Rev. Keith Dodson
The memory of the righteous is blessed, Proverbs 10;7a May is here and so we are one month closer to moving to Benton. And in this very familiar process we go through our stuff and think, do I really need to keep this? Boxes of records that we just might listen to again one day, old picture frames that maybe I will put a picture in one day, or maybe a camera that I have owned for years, that I just MIGHT put film in one day. There are a few really precious items that we own that really are not worth much, but have powerful sentimental value, but as a whole, must things could easily be forgotten in a storage building somewhere for decades. Some of the more precious items are pictures that show our family trips to the beach each year. The pictures begin with the kids being babies and go all the way until last year. A few years ago, I started counting how much money I had spent on each trip, and after about 20 years of beach going, you can imagine the amount that added up to. I was horrified at first at the expense, then I realized that each picture represented much more than a dollar amount. It was a moment and memory that will last for me forever. I could go to each picture and say, on this trip Bekah accidentally took a stranger’s designer flip flop from the boardwalk. And I can point to another picture, this was the last time my father-in-law was with us before he passed away (he was the one who really started the beach trips). This is not an advertisement for going to the gulf of Mexico. Because frankly memories can be made anywhere. I know that I have heard story after story of memories being made right here in the beautiful twin lakes area. Instead this is about what we put value on. When we load the U Haul in June, the most valuable items of the move will not be in boxes. Some of the most precious cargo we will carry will be the memories and the friendships we have made while in Mountain Home. So in a way, we will be packing you up, and taking you with us to Benton, because you will live in our hearts and memories!!! Grace and Peace, Bro. Keith For more infomation visit:
